Happy Birthday, Afrobella!
Today is a glorious day! It’s Afrobella‘s birthday!!! Yes, THAT Afrobella. The one whose hair precedes her. The one who folks call the Godmother of Brown Beauty Blogging. She was doing it before people blogged for the freebies (because there were none back then). She’s the reason a lot of people go natural because her blog gives them courage to be who they want to be without the cream crack.
But mostly, she’s Patrice. Trini for life. Undercover G. Lowkey ignificent. Steve’s boothang. Lauren’s BFF. With a smile that lights up a room because it’s so wide. Great friend (one of my best), with a big heart and an awesome spirit. Buddha with dope hair. My mentor and role model. One of my biggest cheerleaders AND wig snatchers. My travel buddy and Amtrak rider (never again).
You’re a blessing in my life and in the life of others you come across. I LOVE YOU, PATRICE GRELL YURSIK!
I hope your birthday signifies the start of new exciting journeys and marks the beginning of you being another year closer to your dreams. Here’s to decades more!
I dedicate this to you, mon amie!
This post is so gay. And I’m ok with it. 🙂
