Bromance and Onesies: Throwback Thursday
Aahhh the 70s. That decade’s fashion was as unisex as they come. Men wore cropped tops and still had women falling at their feet. In fact, Prince has made his career out of getting women to drop trou while looking like a relic from a decade where fashion was a free-for-all.
I was checking out my girl Santara’s Old School pinterest board when these two bros blessed me with their #alphets.
I’m gonna name them Carl (left in the purple) and Joe (right in the UPS colors).
Look at these men dripping with polyester swagu. LOOK AT THEM! And you know they put these on knowing they were gon pull ALL the ladies (and probably some men). Can we talk about what went behind putting on these jumpers?
First of all, they ironed them just right so the creases on the bell bottoms could pop. And I wonder how much spray starch went to make this happen. Probably an entire can, because I bet this fabric is the type that doesn’t take well to being told what to do.
Then, in the act of putting these onesie on, they must have had to do the “legs in and jump up and down” move to get them on. Because these outfits are super narrow in the hip area. For maximum spotlight on the gluteus maximus, they had to make that area nice and tight.
I bet from the back, they looked like Sexy Flanders
Thankfully (or maybe unfortunately) for the low crotch seam, we might have been blessed with snake print.
And can we talk about Carl’s glorious ruffled top? As if the jumper itself wasn’t enough. Nope. His outfit needed to be taken to new heights with a top that looks like it’d come out of a magician’s hat.
But let’s not forget Joe’s V-neck multi-hued onesie. For those men who can’t decide on the shade of brown they’d like. CHILE… WERK.
This bromance of onesies is so doggone official and Prince is somewhere asking his tailor to replicate Carl’s purple truth. This is gonna be his next SuperBowl outfit. Mark my words.
So whatchu think about Carl and Joe’s onesies? Where do you think they’re going in these clothes? Are they giving you what you need? Also, you know you want it. *Blurred Lines pelvic thrust*
Edit: So apparently, “Carl” is actually Bill Cosby, and “Joe” is Robert Culp and they did a TV show together called “I Spy.” But what’s with the letters next to their alphets?
Edit 2: Upon googling Bill Cosby and Robert Culp, I found pics of them from the 70s and I don’t think Carl and Joe are them. I think they were look alikes used for a catalog. I am stroking my chin here.
FINAL EDIT: This is part of a catalog called “MANTIQUE!” LMAOOO! The site PlaidStallions.com seems to be the originator of the image, which is hilarious. Go see that post. So no, this isn’t Bill Cosby and Robert Culp afterall. Just some lookalikes. Those sly devils.

I’m gonna come out of hiding with my extra late self just to say that I, too, am perplexed by the allure of His Purple Highness. He plays more instruments than I can name, so he gets utmost respect from me, but that’s about it. I don’t see him and think of schmexy time. I see him and think I would like to tuck him in my pocket and give him a tiny harp to play as background music to my daily tomfoolery, and so I whip him out like a badge to fiercely side-eye anyone who crosses me.

You have to study the pic, those creases were always sewn in and you hardly EVER had to iron polyester (polyspongefoam) cuz it was so freakin synthetic that it NEVER WRINKLED. We were sugar sharpe but we were hot as hell cuz it was definitely not a breathable fabric.
These fabrics LOOKED hot. But LOLLL at polyspongefoam. I cackled.
