My 10 Favorite Super Bowl 2014 Commercials
The ads are as much of a draw as the game itself so I watched the Super Bowl and missed most of the ads. Brands were paying over $4 million per commercial, and that was just for the 30 second spots. ALL THE MONIES! During the game, I ended up all distracted so I missed most of the ads but thanks to Mashable, I watched every one of them afterwards.
Basically, I watched all of them so you don’t have to. We won’t e’em talk about that super creepy Scientology ad or the pointless Chobani one with the bear. WE WILL NOT! But here are ten ads I did enjoy for various reasons. Watch them and let me know which is your favorite.
Budweiser’s Puppy Love
I’m not crying. YOU ARE! Sharrap and go buy me a puppy and a horse and a farm. TOO cute!

Jaguar’s British Villains
That was badassery at its finest! I loved it. Accents, men in suits and fast cars. Such a cheap thrill and I am here for it.

Dannon’s Full House
Because why is Uncle Jesse still this FAHN after all these years? Also, the tweenager in me squealed at Danny Tanner and Joey. Full House was my show so this reunion took me back!
—–
Cheerios’ Gracie
This little girl is just TOO cute! I might even go buy Cheerios and then use them for crafts because eating them isn’t an option. You know they’re basically donut-shaped mini cardboards. So dry and tasteless. But these commercials are adorabo!

Kia’s Luxurious Morpheus
Iunno much about cars but never have I heard “Kia” and “luxury” in the same sentence. BUT this commercial had me cackling as Morpheus belted out an Opera like his last name was Pavarotti. I enjoyed it.

Duracell’s Powerful Story
“They told me it was over, but I’ve been deaf since I was 3. So I didn’t listen.” WIN! Complete win for Duracell. Derrick Coleman’s story is super inspiring and now I wanna go out and buy batteries for no reason.

Maserati and Quvenzhane
DAAWWWW! I admit that if this commercial didn’t have Quvenzhane in it, it wouldn’t even matter much to me. Maserati definitely knew what they were doing by picking her for this ad because would we care otherwise? Probably not. But Q made it worth watching.
—–
H&M with David Beckham
Because David Beckham is shirtless.
—–
Coca Cola’s America is Beautiful
This commercial was hella thoughtful. I loved the fact that different languages were singing “America the Beautiful” and they get an A+ for the feels. People who were mad about this commercial for not being just in English (see: Twitter) are foolish IJOTS. The end.

RadioShack’s 80s Throwback
“The 80’s called… they want their store back?!” HEEEE! I surely forgot that RadioShack exists so it’s good that they’re making fun of themselves. Also, Hulk Hogan is in it and I was actually excited to see him. Those years where he had a reality TV show on VH1 lost Hulk some cred, man.
But yeah. Did you watch? What was your favorite ad?

LISTEN. Cheerios won the SuperBowl! I had allergies or summin’. Got an eyelash in my eye. Whatever.
The Coke commercial and its different languages warmed my heart. My America doesn’t only speak English and I am HERE FOR IT!
Finally, Ion even like animals and I let out a “Dawwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!” when the puppy and the horse were playing at the end of the Budweiser commercial. SHEESH. Tug on my heart strings, much!?
(Does #esurancesave30 work here or nah?)
Loved this post! I was confused as to when Masserati needed commercials. But yes to the rest
GIVE THAT HORSE ITS PUPPY!!!
I’m surprised you didn’t like the Audi commercial with that Doberhuahua. But thanks for posting the ones I missed! Especially the Duracell commercial.
The Microsoft ad must have had secret dusty onion spray somewhere in it because the flood-gates of my eyes opened and poured forth a great fountain of huge crocodile tears down my cheeks. The Coke ad had me about to break my face smiling (so proud of them I went on Twitter to defend their honor). The Cheerios Ad I saw that Friday afternoon and was slaying my family with the “Gracie” look all weekend. She was serving us with “I gots tuh get sumpthan out of this here deal” realness. I totally missed the Radio Shack ad. Radio Shack and me been going together since I was 7 years old (that’s where my love of all things computer began). Missed most of the other ads as well because I was still preparing the snacks and what-nots for my family. But oh well, that’s what YouTube is for, right?
I went on twitter to roast Allen West in support of Coke. Its so arrogant to forget that not everyone was born here and that doesn’t mean illegally either. We are known as the melting pot country. Why not support that?
I LOVED the dog and horse from Budweiser. Yes, some dust flew in my eye.
I loved the Coca Cola Commercial
And the Jaguar.
And I hadn’t seen the Duracell one..thanks.
I will forever think that Volvo shoulda held the Jean Claude Van Damme commercial until the Superbowl.
Yes to the Cheerios and Villians Ads also loved Ellen for Beats as well but the commercials that won the night for me was Tim Tebow for T-mobile no contracts I love when people poke fun at themselves
I also loved the one where the father kept saving his son over and over, grabbing him at the last minute before he killed his damn fool self, until the end when the car did it for him. LOL
I forgot my headphones at home I’ll have to listen tonight. But where was Aunt Becky and who was that sucking on my Jesse’s lips? He is still too fine… yum. 🙂
That Jaguar commercial!!! I am here for anything with Mark Strong (bald headed guy driving the car)!! He is gorgeous and his voice does things to me.
Also Ellen’s BeatsbyDre commercial was hilarious. I love her.
I loved all of these on this list ALTHOUGH I could have done without H&M and David Beckham. I had Tom Hiddleston in Jaguar’s British villains ad so I was ok. Plus john Stamos. Have Mercy!
I was singing the praises of Gracie and Puppy Love on Friday and that never waivered. I loved those two ads and all they stood for.
One of the things I liked most about this year’s ad lineup was the diversity. And I would say Coca-Cola summed it up beautifully.
I’ve never thought that I would ever find lanky, white men sexy. Then, I ended up watching Tom Hiddleston in “Henry the IV”.
The radioshack one. Even though Kid & Play are rocking toupees. LOL
