Three-Peat! Rising Troublemaker is a NYTimes Bestseller!

I’m HYPED, because my newest release, Rising Troublemaker: A Fear-Fighter Manual for Teens, hit the New York Times bestseller list! This is my 3rd book, THIRD New York Times bestseller, and it came in at #3. And this is the 3rd category I’ve made the list in. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Hitting the NYTimes with I’m Judging You: The Do-Better Manual (2016) showed it wasn’t a fluke, and doing it again with Professional Troublemaker: The Fear-Fighter Manual (2021) showed it’s a pattern, and now with the third book, I’m letting it be known that there’s a FORMULA. Black women deserve bigger advances, bigger book deals and all the works!

Rising Troublemaker is the book I wish I had as a young adult. The book that would have told me I needed to honor myself before anyone else. The book that would have affirmed me in the moments where I was too scared to do something because it felt too big. The book that would have told me to negotiate my salaries (whenever I could finally get a job).

This is the book Little Luvvie needed (and NAH, don’t laugh at me for my boxed braids bob, because the 90s are back and everybody is rocking them now 😭), so I want to make sure the next generation has the cheat codes they need to own their dopeness EARLY. 

As teenagers, while we were learning about how Christopher Columbus “discovered” America and how to be AMAZING test takers in school 😒, folks weren’t being fully honest with us! Nobody was telling us not to sign up for that credit card in college and ruin our credit for two decades. Nobody told us that to be well-functioning human beings, our job was NOT to people-please our way into bent backs. My nieces and nephews will not go out into the world without this knowledge, and I wanted to share this with all young adults as well.
