Because I’ve Never Watched an Evelyn From the Internets Video I Didn’t Love
I just need to take this time to give ALL THE PROPS to Evelyn from the Internets. In case you’re outta the loop, you gotta jump into it because she is everything right about interwebbing, creativity, humor writing and Black girl dopeness.
Evelyn has a YouTube channel where she rants about whatever her heart desires, so you know I already dig that randomness. One day, she’s talking about how she’s held a grudge for 20 years and the next, she’s talking about being Benadryl wasted. She even talked about how she’s never doing a video about her BAE, and you KNOW that is my creed, cuz real Gs gotta move in silence. Now I’m obsessed, because she’s basically my spirit twin. She’s also my African sista, cuz her parents are from Kenya.
In April, she did a 30 videos in 30 days challenge, where she uploaded a new vid every single day. That is when I got tipped off on who she was and I got mad that nobody told me about her before then.
Long story short: Evelyn is the shit. When Beyonce dropped the LEMONADE saga, she made a video about it that made me snort from laughing so hard. Well, three weeks later, Bey ends up playing her video at one of her concerts, and Evelyn’s reaction video is the best thing since sliced bagels.
YOOOOO!!! LMAOOOO! That inhaler is the real MVP. But for real. Who wouldn’t be laid out at the altar when Queen Bey gives you THE shoutout?
Basically, she’s consistently hilarious and she infuses nerd-dom into her work too. Smart, funny and just… dope. You gotta get familiar. You’re gonna go on her YouTube channel and fall into the black hole of her videos and emerge hours later, having fallen in love with her because she’s like if your conscience got smart and started having conversations with you.
My new goal is to meet her. Her latest video is about how everyone is now in love with Black Panther, and being from Wakanda (basically Africa) is cool now. When I tell you the entire thing made me HOWL like a drunken wolf? Chile! Just watch:

First, let me say how much I love this site! Salute! I read it regularly but I’m always apprehensive about posting stuff because you know how the innawebs can be but I digress. I had to scroll down today just so I could say how much I love Evelyn from the Internets too! In fact, I was just re-watching some older vids on her channel last night. Chile, when I tell you that Evelyn makes me CACKLE, I mean that! She and I go together! lol Her irreverent take on pop culture and just life in general give me great joy. I was watching Evelyn’s videos because of her hair tips. She is one of a handful that has my hair type and did a lot of creative things to her hair.
Then she tried something new, daily vlog for the month of April, and had me giggling, and lol. I started to wonder why she wasn’t writing for a show or creating her own show.
