I’m at the Bentonville Film Festival For the Week!
Wattup, beautiful people! I’m spending this week in Bentonville, Arkansas (yeah, really!). Who’da thunk I’d have some business in freaking Arkansas?
I will be on the ground as the social ambassador for the Bentonville Film Festival, which was created by Geena Davis. The mission of BFF is champion women and diverse voices in media, giving access and opportunity to filmmakers who are not white men, basically.
We stay locked out of rooms that allow us to tell our own stories so this Film Festival is all about opening some doors. It’s also the only film fest where winners are guaranteed distribution deals.
I’m excited to be a part of it, bringing you the behind-the-scenes tea, random selfies of me and famous people who don’t realize that us taking a picture means we now go together, and other randomness.
Throughout the week, there will be film screenings, panels and events. There will even be a “A League of Their Own” reunion baseball game!
I will be on a panel called Social-tainment: How Minority Women Are Leading the Charge in Changing the Narrative of Entertainment through Social Media. ANDDDDD I will be hosting the BFF awards show on Saturday night!
So yeah, follow me on social and come along with me. I’ll be posting on Instagram (@Luvvie) and I’ll be streaming some of the panels and events on Periscope.
I’m gonna have to jump and high five Geena Davis for this. LOVE HER. This is the cool stuff I love, when celebrities use their platform and privilege and power for good. This is the lift as your climb life I so appreciate.
Good times.
P.S. This means I probably won’t be writing much this week. Govern yourselves accordingly.

Bless you! Lived there for 6 years, then escaped to Atlanta. Still has the best sushi I’ve ever had. I know. Enjoy your time there 🙂
Whoa! NW Arkansas has arrived! Forget Wally World… Welcome to The Natural State, Luvvie.
Heeyyy! Arkansas native, here! So glad you’re there.
I will definitely try to coordinate my jaunt home next year for the BFF. Our voices need to be heard.
Luvvie- we really need to find a way to get you connected and involved with the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA). I think you’d love their message and how much it resonates with the mission of BFF.
