My Life

Overnight Guest Prep Checklist: Be the Best Host!

The holidays are officially HERE! 🎉 And you know what that means? Folks are pulling up to your house ready to celebrate, connect, and make sure they don’t miss out on your famous mac and cheese (or in our house, Jollof Rice, of course!)

Hosting family and friends is one of my favorite things… until I remember all the prep work it takes to make sure my house doesn’t look like a tornado hit it. Both before and after. 😂

This is why I LIVE for checklists and SOPs. They save my life every single time. I can’t stress this enough: having a plan makes hosting feel less like a chore and more like something you can actually enjoy. 🎉 Enter the Overnight Guest Prep Checklist.

Overnight Guest Checklist

Here’s why this matters:

Because running around like a headless chicken (or Turkey, ha!) on Thanksgiving morning is not the vibe. 🙅🏾‍♀️ This checklist will help you get ahead of the chaos, for less preparing and more celebrating. 🍾

What you’re getting:

  • 🗓️ Pre-Arrival Prep – The steps you need to get your house ready without squirreling.
  • 🎁 Thoughtful Holiday Touches – Like a cute little welcome basket with snacks or the Wi-Fi password (because let’s be real, that’s what everyone asks for first these days).
  • 🛏️ Guest Room Glow-Up – How to make your guest space feel like a five-star hotel (or at least a solid Airbnb).
  • 🚪 Post-Departure Reset – Make the house look as great as when the guests arrived, or even better!

Bottom line: Hosting doesn’t have to feel like a whole production. With this checklist, your guests will feel the love.

Bring It On Animation

Now, tell me: what’s the ONE hosting task that always trips you up? 🤔💭 For me, it’s realizing I don’t have spare clean towels 10 minutes before the guests arrive. 😩 Drop your answers in the comments so we can swap stories and hosting hacks. 🗣
