My Journey to the Academy Awards with Afrobella
My peoples! I’ve been MIA on my eCrib all week because I’ve been prepping for my trip to LA for the Academy Awards. I’m there right now for a trip of a lifetime, and it’s a dream come true. Actually, it’s a dream I didn’t even have because I didn’t expect something like this to even come my way.
I’m sure you’re wondering how it happened. Well, y’all know Jesus be putting in work for a G sometimes. What happened is that a Hollywood producer (Stephanie Frederic) who reads my blog and loves my writing asked if I’d like to come cover the Academy Awards. She mentioned to me that she goes to awards all the time, and while she’s there, she’s reading my live-tweets and cracking up. You coulda knocked me over with a feather.
And she also is a fan of my homette Afrobella. So, we’re part of her production team for the coverage of the Oscars. And we’ll be live-tweeting from the show and backstage.
Also, the reason we got to LA so early is that there are a ton of pre-Oscar events that we’ll be attending, so we’ll be keeping folks up to date on our random adventures while here. Anywho! We’re so excited. And when we got into our hotel room, we had these waiting on our beds:

Anywho, the next 5 days are gonna be a whirlwind, and we’re so excited! We’ve got pre-Oscar events to attend, and we’ll be chronicling our adventures on the web.
And we’ll try to continuously thank Sweet 5 lb 7 oz baby Jesus for this opportunity. Someone on the inside AND upstairs must love us because WHO’DA THUNK IT???
